Namur Is A Joke is a comedy festival in Namur. The brief covered one edition, with social media capsules and teaser videos to title and dress. The register came from the festival itself: offbeat, colourful, high contrast. A comedy line-up is not announced with a quiet treatment, and anything that lives in a feed has to be recognised before it is even read.
Three vertical formats, one energy
Teaser, interview and vox-pop: three short formats built for social media, shot and edited for Niaj (Namur Is A Joke). Three different intentions, one vertical frame. The teaser has to land in a few seconds, the interview rests on what is said, the vox-pop lives on the edit and the rhythm of the answers. The editing adapts to each without the set drifting apart. What holds the series together is the treatment: same vertical format, same logic of rhythm and readability, so the three videos read as part of the same project wherever you come across them in a feed.

Discovery
We frame what the film has to say, to whom, and into which brand world it fits. If guidelines already exist, they become our starting point rather than a constraint to work around.

Direction
We list the boards and set the art direction as slides. You know what the film will contain and what it will look like before a single frame moves.

Framing
Still boards, approved before any animation. This is not set in stone: if the project calls for it, or if you would rather go straight to animation, we skip it. But when we keep it, it saves animating the same sequence three times over.

Production and delivery
The animation itself, with regular check-ins to avoid nasty surprises. For sound, voice and music we work with partners whose actual craft it is, rather than pretending in house.
