Télévie, websites for giving

Télévie raises funds for cancer research. These websites turn a small gesture from the public into real support: hanging a decoration on a giant Christmas tree by making a donation, or leaving a kind word. The Télévie Christmas tree is the centrepiece.

The starting point

Télévie wanted a campaign for the festive season, from 1 December to Christmas, built on a simple principle: make a donation, then see your decoration hung on the tree with your name and message, or stay anonymous. The whole point was to make that gesture visible, so that each donor finds a place on the tree and the tree, day after day, shows everyone who gave.

The approach

A tree that fills up with donations

The tree is explored like a place: you zoom in, wander between the branches, and a mini-map shows where you are. Each donation level matches a decoration, from the Christmas bauble to the Télévie heart, by way of the patterned bauble, the candy cane and the gingerbread man. Donors pick theirs, write a message and pay on Télévie's own form without leaving the tree. A search then lets them find their decoration among all the others. The site was built from mid-November to mid-December 2025.

For the 2026 edition, the tree is being reworked from the ground up, with two requirements: that no paid decoration ever goes missing, even when the tree carries thousands of them, and that everyone is able to give. Payment opens full screen on a phone, decorations can be tapped without pixel-perfect aim, everything works from the keyboard, animations calm down for those who ask, and contrast meets the AA level. A message that is too long gets shortened, never refused, and a moderation screen lets the team review the messages. For Télévie 2025, the big fresco already invited everyone to send a photo of themselves making a heart, with a few words on why. The photos joined the fresco online, revealed in full at the end of the Télévie evening. In spring 2026, the kind words platform carries the same idea in another form: a simple, phone-first site where anyone can leave a short message of support. For each message, a visual in social media format is generated, ready to be posted on Télévie's Facebook page. Alongside these campaigns, there are also the online press kits for the 2025 and 2026 editions: one page per edition, with videos and photos, presenting Télévie to journalists. They cover the year's challenges and events, the programmes, the big evening, the partners, how to give and the press contacts.

Results

These sites support a much larger operation: Télévie, which raises funds every year for cancer research. They are its participatory side, where anyone can leave a mark, a photo, a decoration or a message.
